Stephen C. LarsonPhone: 303-442-1900 Stephen C. Larson, formerly with the national firm of Popham Haik Schnobrich and Kauffman, Ltd., focuses his practice in the areas of water, real estate and commercial law. Mr. Larson counsels clients concerning water rights purchase and sale transactions; water title evaluations; water and ditch disputes; and represents clients in Water Court adjudications of surface, storage and alluvial ground water rights, water supply plans, and changes of water rights. Mr. Larson's water law practice also involves permitting and adjudications of Denver Basin groundwater and Designated Ground Water. In the context of his real estate and commercial law practice, Mr. Larson assists clients with an array of commercial real estate transactions and leases, commercial construction and other contracts, company formation and litigation. Mr. Larson's reported cases include In re: the Application for Water Rights of Double RL Company, 54 P.3d 908 (Colo. Supreme Ct. 2002); Brooks v. Bank of Boulder, 911 F.Supp 470 (U.S. District Court 1996); and Eagle County, Colorado BOCC v. Fixed Base Operators, Inc., 939 P.2d 464 (Colo. Ct. App. 1997); See also, Certain Underwriters of Lloyds of London v. Martinez, 985 P.2d 142 (Kansas Ct. App. 1999). A product of the Midwest, Mr. Larson was born in Omaha, Nebraska, grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and received B.A. degrees, cum laude, from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Mr. Larson received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1993, graduating with numerous academic distinctions. Mr. Larson is a member of the Colorado, Denver and Boulder County Bar Associations and a former member of the William E. Doyle American Inn of Court (Denver). Mr. Larson is a past Co-Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Boulder County Bar Association. Mr. Larson has volunteered extensively in organizations serving the youth of Boulder County, including coaching for CSYSA member Trebol Soccer Club, General Counsel to Peak to Peak Charter School, and he is a member of the Board of Directors of Attention Homes in Boulder, which provides shelter and counseling for at-risk adolescents. Mr. Larson has been a resident of Boulder and Broomfield Counties since 1987. He resides in Broomfield, Colorado with his wife and two daughters.
