Helaine R. Smith practices primarily in the areas of real estate, general corporate and transactional law. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith worked as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Timothy L. Fasing, Eighteenth Judicial District, Colorado.

Ms. Smith was born in New York City. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1991 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1997, where she was awarded the James C. Starkweather Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence. While attending law school, she interned with the Environmental Protection Agency and the University of Denver's EarthLaw Clinic.

Ms. Smith is a member of the Colorado and Boulder Bar Associations and serves as a co-chair of the Real Estate Section of the Boulder Bar Association.
